7 U.S.C. § 7654 — Food Safety Research Information Office

(a) Establishment: The Secretary of Agriculture must set up a Food Safety Research Information Office at the National Agricultural Library. (b) Purpose: The Office must give researchers and the public information about publicly funded — and, as much as practical, privately funded — food safety research projects, in order to (1) prevent food safety research from being unintentionally duplicated, and (2) help executive and legislative agencies and private research groups figure out what food safety research is needed and which projects to prioritize. (c) Cooperation: The Office must carry out this work together with the National Institutes of Health, the FDA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, public institutions, and — if they choose to participate — private research groups.
