10 U.S.C. § 20105 — Sustained duty

(a) Enlisted Members. An authority the Secretary of the Air Force designates can order an enlisted Space Force member in a space force active status to sustained duty, or keep them on sustained duty, only with that member's consent, as spelled out in the terms of their enlistment or reenlistment agreement. (b) Officers. (1) A designated authority can order a Space Force officer in an active status to sustained duty either: (A) with the officer's consent; or (B) to fulfill the terms of an active-duty service commitment the officer already owes under some other law. (2) An officer ordered to sustained duty this way can't be released from it without the officer's consent, except as provided in chapter 2009 or 2011 of this title.
