10 U.S.C. § 20602 — Officers: computation of years of service for voluntary retirement
submitted 3 years ago by Pub. L. 118-31 to r/title-10-ARMED-FORCES · 84 words · no verdicts yet
To figure out if a Space Force officer qualifies for voluntary retirement, the government adds up all of that officer's active service across the armed forces. A separate law excludes certain time periods from this count.
For the purpose of determining whether an officer* of the Space Force may be retired under section 20601 of this title, the officer’s years of service are computed by adding all active service in the armed forces*.
Section 972(b) of this title excludes from computation of an officer’s years of service for purposes of this section any time identified with respect to that officer under that section.
