The Secretary of the Army can hire as many civilian professors, instructors, and lecturers at the Academy as needed. The Secretary sets their pay. The Secretary can also set special work schedules and overtime rules for them, instead of the usual federal rules.
(a) The Secretary of the Army* may hire as many civilians as professors, instructors, and lecturers at the Academy as the Secretary thinks are needed.
(b) The Secretary decides how much these civilian employees get paid.
(c) The Secretary of the Army can set special rules for these employees instead of following the normal federal pay* and hours laws. Those special rules can cover: (1) the work schedule, including work hours and shifts, set as specifically as the Secretary thinks is right; and (2) any extra pay or time off for working more than the normal scheduled hours or shifts.
The Secretary of the Army* may employ as many civilians as professors, instructors, and lecturers at the Academy as the Secretary considers necessary.
The compensation of persons employed under this section is as prescribed by the Secretary.
The Secretary of the Army may, notwithstanding the provisions of subchapter V of chapter 55 of title 5 or section 6101 of such title, prescribe for persons employed under this section the following:
The work schedule, including hours of work and tours of duty, set forth with such specificity and other characteristics as the Secretary determines appropriate.
Any premium pay* or compensatory time off for hours of work or tours of duty in excess of the regularly scheduled hours or tours of duty.
