The Secretary of the Army must assign a commissioned Army officer as quartermaster for the Corps of Cadets. The quartermaster buys and hands out supplies and food for the cadets. The quartermaster also oversees the mess, or dining, operation.
The Secretary of the Army* must assign a commissioned Army officer* to serve as quartermaster for the Corps of Cadets. The quartermaster must: (1) buy and give out all supplies* for the cadets; (2) buy and give out all food for the dining hall; and (3) oversee the dining hall.
The Secretary of the Army* shall detail a commissioned officer* of the Army as quartermaster for the Corps of Cadets. The quartermaster shall—
buy and issue all supplies* for the cadets;
buy and issue all provisions for the mess; and
supervise the mess.
