16 U.S.C. § 410fff–1 — Definitions

(1) Conservation Area: means the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area, about 57,725 acres surrounding the Gunnison Gorge, as shown on the Map. (2) Map: means the map titled "Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Gunnison Gorge NCA—1/22/99," which must be on file and available for public viewing at the Department of the Interior. (3) Park: means the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, set up under section 410fff–2 of this title and shown on the Map. (4) Secretary: means the Secretary of the Interior. These four terms — Conservation Area, Map, Park, and Secretary — are used throughout the rest of this subchapter, so each later section that mentions the Park, the Conservation Area, or the Map is relying on the specific meanings fixed here.
