51 U.S.C. § 60606 — Space weather knowledge transfer and information exchange

No later than 180 days after the PROSWIFT Act became law, NOAA's Administrator, working with NASA's Administrator and the National Science Foundation's Director, had to arrange with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to set up a Space Weather Government-Academic-Commercial Roundtable. This Roundtable facilitates communication and knowledge transfer among three groups: government members of the space weather interagency working group established under section 60601(c), the academic community, and the commercial space weather sector. Its purposes are to: (1) help advance space weather prediction and forecasting; (2) increase coordination between research-to-operations and operations-to-research work; and (3) improve preparedness for space weather events.
