6 U.S.C. § 321p — National planning and education

(1) As far as practical, the Secretary must include the threat of an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) or GMD (geomagnetic disturbance) event in the national planning frameworks — the government's overall disaster-planning documents. This section does not define "EMP" or "GMD" beyond using these terms. (2) As far as practical, the Secretary must also reach out to educate people about EMP and GMD threats. This includes owners and operators of critical infrastructure, emergency planners, and emergency response providers, at every level of government.
